We've been seeing this across the industry. At some point in a company's growth, engineering velocity grinds to a halt. This causes a lot of tension and anxiety. Fingers start pointing. Everybody is trying to figure out what's going on. I'm one of the few voices saying "hm, you know I think these tools are bad". But that doesn't feel right to the team. They look at me like I must be a bozo. Just another manager who doesn't know what he's talking about.
